The Bailies are all about volunteering - be it our charity trustees or the volunteer members of our various groups, volunteering time, energy and enthusiasm make the Bailies what it is, helping preserve the amenity of our beloved hill and learning more about this special landscape.

The Bailies‘ groups cover a wide variety of interests and skills:

  • Our monthly Work Parties are hands on - volunteers are looking after the hill itself, doing path maintenance , clearing vegetation, planting trees, and much more. Find out more about our Work Parties.
  • The Bennachie Wildlife Group are constantly learning more about what lives on the hill, and with local experts they learn about the birds, mammals and plants which call Bennachie home. Find out more about the Bennachie Wildlife Group
  • The Bennachie Landscape Project are uncovering more about Bennachie’s fascinating history across the centuries through archaeological digs . The Kailyard Team also recreated and look after the Kailyard garden at one of the Colony houses. Find out more about the Bennachie Landscape Project.
  • Our HIll Wardens walk a given section of the path network every 6 weeks, reporting in on the condition of the paths, car parks etc, from which action may be taken. Find out more about our Hill Wardens.
