The Bailies of Bennachie are leading two free guided walks to look at several dig sites close to the Bennachie Bede House which is on Pittodrie estate owned by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts . This Summer, over several weeks, the Bailies and volunteers have been undertaking a dig close to the old Bede house (which was investigated a few years ago). This year, the dig undertaken is trying to find out more about a large enclosure and an unusual ‘mound’ that sits overlooking the enclosure site. So far a Neolithic pottery shard has been found on the site and a lot more... so this is a great opportunity to learn more!

If you wish to attend one of these guided walks please book in advance by e-mailing info@bailiesofbennachie.co.uk please state which day you would like to attend, and please supply us with your contact details Please note most of the walk is following rough tracks and there will be walking on uneven ground so please wear walking boots or sensible footwear. anyone aged under 16 years should be accompanied by an adult, Dogs can attend but must be on leads.
