Doric Evening a Success

To mark the beginning of their  40th birthday celebrations the Bailies of Bennachie held an evening of Doric entertainment at King George V memorial hall at Chapel of Garioch near Inverurie on Friday 10th May
The Bailies inaugural meeting in 1973 took place on May 9 and the flourishing society now has over 3,000 members at home and abroad.
Garioch Fiddlers opened the concert to a full house with a selection of traditional tunes which soon had feet tapping and the audience joining in with the weel-kent songs.
Presided by master of ceremonies George Smith the entertainers were Jackie Ross from Lumphanan, Inverurie raconteur Jake Simpson, Doug Stewart from Huntly and Bill Gray from Peteterhead.
