New Bailies Constitution

September 2015

As part of the process to keep the Bailies of Bennachie as healthy an organisation as possible, the current council have been looking at the legal structures that support us to do the great works we do. Part of this has been around the issue of a constitution. Our current constitution was drafted in October 1977 with Amendments in 2008 and as charity law has moved on considerably since that time, we have a resolution for our membership to move towards the Bailies becoming a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). A SCIO is a legal entity in its own right, and offers the greatest level of protection to our Members. At our next AGM, at 7.30pm on 17th Sept at the Acorn Centre Inverurie we shall be presenting the draft SCIO for comment, with the resolution that we adopt the new SCIO.
