Wildlife and Bennachie Landscape Group Hold Evening Walk

Members of the Bailies of Bennachie wildlife and Landscape Groups held a walk on the evening of 8th June looking at the history of the Colony and the impact of cultivation on the vegetation of the hillside.
Plant expert David Bale guided the walk to look at the vegetation natural to the hill and to compare with other areas where people have lived in the past. Colin Miller from the Bennachie Landscape Group, talked about what the Bailies have found out about the 19th Century colonists who lived at the various sites visited on the walk.
Around 20 people from both groups attended the walk in spite of overcast conditions.
