Call for Entries for Photograph Competition for Bailies Calendar

February 2020

The Bailies of Bennachie are calling for people with fabulous photos taken on or of the hill range to enter them into a competition. Thirty photos will be selected to go forward to an exhibition and thirteen of them will be published in a fundraising calendar. The display of photographs will be in April at the Bennachie Visitors Centre and the Garioch Heritage Centre where the public can choose their favourites for inclusion in the calendar. The winning photographs will be featured in the popular Bailies of Bennachie calendar for 2021.

The Outreach officer for the Bailies of Bennachie, Fiona Cormack commented:

“Our fundraising calendar is always a best seller and a great showcase for Bennachie. This year we are trying something different in opening up the selection to a public vote. The photos will be exhibited at the Bennachie Visitor’s Centre from 13th to the 19th April and at the Garioch Heritage Centre from 21st April to 25th April. People will be able to view the photographs and vote for their favourites in the categories of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The photos have to be original and not be used in any other publications”

“Anyone with a great photograph of or on the hill can send it to the Bailies of Bennachie. They will need to send an electronic version to publications@bailiesofbennachie.co.uk. We are sure that many people have taken stunning pictures that deserve a wider audience and we are asking people to look them out and send them in. The deadline for submissions is 3rd April so there is not long to choose your best ones and send them to the Bailies of Bennachie.”
