Crafts, Drama and The Arts

The arts and crafts are frequently under-represented in studies of cultural histories. This part of Bennachie Landscapes will attempt to introduce the modern practitioners of these ‘dark arts’ into those investigations of cultural history concerned with earlier manifestations of those arts. This is likely to lead to some exciting experimental cultural archaeology involving early craft techniques. One is under discussion at the moment but held ‘under wraps’ pending a successful conclusion to those talks! Furthermore, it should not be forgotten that music and drama produced the social commentaries of their ages - such  undertakings were not solely for pleasure and performed an important social duty. It is hoped that the findings generated by the various Bennachie Landscapes projects can be similarly artistically, musically and dramatically portrayed.

Any practitioners of these ‘dark arts’, please get in contact so that we can discuss ideas
