A week long programme of events celebrating the cultural and natural heritage of Bennachie. Organised in partnership with the Bailies of Bennachie, Forestry Commission Scotland and The Elphinstone Institute.

WALK BENNACHIE TOPS
Meet a Bailie at one of the car parks, climb to some of the tops of Bennachie and find out more about the hill. This event is only suitable for adults. Please book in advance. For guidance only – this walk is strenuous – some previous experience recommended; significant walking over rough ground and some long/steep ascents.
Meet: - At the Back O’Bennachie car park to walk up Craigshannoch and Oxen Craig.
- At the Donview car park to walk up Millstone Hill.
- At the Rowantree car park to walk up Mither Tap.
Thursday 6th August
AIRCRAFT SITES ON BENNACHIE 3.00 – 5.00pm
Meet James Mackay on the top of Oxen Craig and visit one of the aircraft crash sites on Bennachie. This event is only suitable for adults. Please book in advance. For guidance only – this walk is strenuous – some previous experience recommended; significant walking over rough ground and some long/steep ascents.
BENNACHIE’S HIGHEST WATERFALL 7.00 – 9.00pm
Meet at the Bennachie Centre car park and visit one of Bennachie’s hidden treats! Everyone is welcome to come along, children must be accompanied. Please book in advance. Over the last six months Jennifer Fagen has been researching the Bennachie Colonists. Come and find out more. Everyone is welcome to come along, children must be accompanied. Please book in advance. BENNACHIE CASTLES
On Friday we’ll travel by minibus and visit Harthill Castle and Castle Forbes. Or join us on Saturday as we visit Lickleyhead and Leslie Castles.
Bring your own picnic. Cost: £5 per seat. This event is only suitable for adults.
