About the Bailies of Bennachie

The Bailies of Bennachie is a voluntary conservation society formed in 1973 under the enthusiastic leadership of Dr Daniel Gordon, the founder senior Bailie.

The objectives of the society are:-

The Bailies hold a variety of events throughout the year including an Annual Picnic in August, the annual General meeting in September along with guided walks on various parts of Bennachie range also Doric nights with poetry, story telling and music.

There are monthly voluntary work parties where members of the public get the opportunity to repair paths, trim vegetation, archaeological surveying along with other hands on activities.

The Bailies of Bennachie have many publications for sale at the Bennachie centre and other local retail outlets such as calendars, books, maps and other gifts including the Bailies of Benachie Tartan which can be purchased and made into items of clothing.
